Würdigung
Für seine Verdienste um die Nutzung der Windkraft zur Energiegewinnung erhält er am 16. Juli 1952 den Verdienstorden der Bundesrepublik Deutschland der Bundesrepublik Deutschland.
- In Cuxhaven wird eine Straße Hermann-Honnef-Straße genannt.
